Do you visualize storylines to music? J.Crew has a bright pair of pink shorts I just bought, a great RealReal haul, advice from Sofie Pavitt, a very cool storage system, + more
and a great podcast to discover new music & dill pickle chips
Good morning and happy Wednesday! I have officially reached 1k+ subscribers here and it truly fills me with joy because I LOVE doing this so I want to send a huge thank you to everyone who subscribes, leaves a comment or a like and has sent me supportive messages over the past year. I have come to love this little community and corner of inspiration so much so thank you, thank you.
Wear: I saw the creative director of J.Crew post these color story collages on Instagram and the marketing got me! They really have some good stuff on their website right now.
I was specifically obsessed with the nylon pink shorts- I ordered them and very curious what they will be like in person. Also love the bright colors like this blue tank and pink crinkle dress. Great linen pants that come in tall (love) and this cozy Summer funnelneck sweater. Sparkly flip flops! More J.Crew Summer favs here.
I had a very good order come in from The RealReal. I think it was a first where I genuinely liked everything.
I got an Alaia belt that is incredible, a perfect linen halter from Deji Studios, this amazing vintage Miu Miu floral blouse. Filippa K white pants and black tank for less than $100. Alfie Paris grey skirt and tee set, I looove. And this sequin Siedres skirt with an Eterne black blouse with perfect sleeves. Looove a RealReal deep dive search. The dig pays off!
I’m in my protect my face from the sun at all costs stage of life so I am debating buying a hat by Clyde. I like the black bucket hat.
This is a sexy heel from Neous on Ssense on sale for $252 from $630.
Obsessed with this look on Lara Worthington.
I got a GREAT pair of Theory pants for $24 from my local consignment shop that I have been wearing daily. They are low rise and perfection- The RealReal has a lot of options.
I am currently couch rotting in my new favorite sweatshirt from Yellow Label Co, the jumbo hoodie (I talked about them a few weeks ago). Since then, I also purchased their chunky knit and love. These are the things I realistically wear daily. I already have their cozy crew which is great, idk how they make them SO SOFT.
A very good polka dot Summer jacket via Belle the Label. I picture it with micro shorts.
A good old fashioned going out top via Reformation.
Jewels: Loving everything coming from the brand Santangelo.
I love this necklace. And this belt is amazing. And THESE EARRINGS, so good!!
I am into this jumbo key holder so I never lose my keys again. This little one is cute too.
These little earrings are great if you have a double or cartilage piercings.
Skin: I feel like my skin has been pretty consistent using just my rose spray, Rhode or Laneige glazing milk (Rhode in morning and with makeup and Laneige at night) and La Roche Posay lipikar balm triple repair cream. Plus a sunscreen, I go between Lesse and Ultra Violette. And my eyebrow and lash serum that I use religiously and my brows are wildin out.
But I do feel like I am missing a good Vitamin C and may repurchase the Allies of Skin 35% which I ran out of. Also am missing my Moon Juice plump jelly. The texture is so good.
I very much enjoyed reading
’s Substack (Into The Fridge) featuring Sofie Pavitt and may have finally been convinced to get the Mandelic Clearing Serum. She mentions my favorite Fara Homidi lip pencil (in faun) that I’ve talked about obsessively. Two takeaways-A fiber supplement can really help change your skin if you have PCOS or hormonal breakouts (I like good ol Metamucil sugar free).
10 step routines are overrated, you need a cleanser, a treatment and a hydrator (SPF in daytime too).
Home: Zara just dropped their new home collection and I love these glass straws.
Also love this little plate.
These vintage glasses from Etsy.
I am so impressed and obsessed with this Rail Storage System designed by Elora Joshi. You can hang mirrors, art, clothes etc- such a cool and unique design.
Reading: If you want excellent book recs, I highly recommend following
’s Substack (like here). I added a bunch of these to my reading list and it’s getting longggg.I want the newest Gentlewoman magazine featuring Greta Lee.
Naomi Fry on Chloë Sevigny via The New Yorker.
Here’s an interesting article via Dazed on the current dating culture, also includes a clip of young men calling Margot Robbie “mid compared to the ideal woman.”
Watching: If you watched Succession and also have a girl crush on Annabelle Dexter-Jones, you may enjoy this video on her beauty and skincare routine via W Magazine.
Listening: I discovered this podcast called, Are We On Air? If you like discovering new music, it’s a great source. Arman Naféei interviews different people from Leon Bridges to Alexa Chung to Patti Smith and they share the “soundtrack of their life”- music they’ve loved through heartbreak, go to karaoke song, songs that got them into music in the first place, etc. I just love it.
If you follow their profile on Spotify you can see the different curated playlists.
I also recently discovered that not everyone visualizes stories/imagery to songs, anyone out there who does this?? I can create an entire movie in my head to a song and I will replay the same song 100 times to recreate the scenes in my head. Sometimes I am in them but other times I am not. I write down my movie ideas to different songs I hear and the scenes they would play in. But the music is what creates the movie ideas…anyone else?? I think I’ve done this since I was little.
When I was down south I was sitting on the pier where the boats dock in the afternoon and an extremely tanned guy in his early 20’s was driving his fishing boat through with his feet BLASTING this song. It felt like a scene from a movie and I definitely shazam’d the song from my hidden corner of the pier. It was a moment of WOW, we’ve lived very different lives (I know nothing about him) so now whenever I listen to this song (and I am not a country gyal but Tyler Childers can slap), I have an entire plot in my head.
AND THESE LYRICS. We’re setting the scene.
Also By Your Side- Sade on REPEAT throughout my life.
Ingesting: This Mineral Milk tea from Mammal Herbs. It has rosehip, red raspberry leaf, nettle leaf, marshmallow root and rose petals.
When I tell you I inhaled these chips in 2 days.
Have a good week and thanks for reading! x
At the risk of sounding dramatic; Sophie Pavitt’s serum changed my skin!! My pores are less visible and my skin texture is so much smoother; HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
I hope you’ll report back on the nylon shorts from JCrew, they have been on my radar. They sound weird and cool.
Finally, your TRR order is a serious vibe. I love.
So glad you love the Rail System!
