Good morning! I missed the fact that yesterday was Wednesday and today is Thursday so I guess we are posting on Thursday this week! I went to Chicago for a girls trip this weekend and it was very fun but my brain is lost in the sauce so here we are. Today we are talking:
how to make wearing white feel fun again
a swimsuit sale
some Zara new releases that caught my eye
I bought 3 water bottles
*this post is too long for email so make sure to read it in the Substack app*
It seems like we are all on a perpetual search for the universally loved perfect white tee but ever so often I get into a styling funk- bored or unsure of how to wear it. It’s not like white is the most flattering color in existence but it does seem to always look smart and put together. So let’s get re-inspired together on how to wear white.
My go to white tee’s are by Colorful Standard, perfectwhitetee, Uniqlo (also good), COS and Muji. I’ll also let you in on a secret that maybe isn’t a secret but for a cute fitted and perfectly cropped tee, Hanes tee’s from Target in the boys section. I get a size large and they are perfect.
If you are looking for a great break down of white t-shirts check out this and this.
Bloomers- Very cute with a fun white top or just a plain tee or tank. I talked about the brand Charlie Beads (last week) and have been mulling over what color I should buy. I am leaning toward the pink pair, they are such a fun way to add a little za za zoo to your white tee/top. Suzie Kondi also has a bunch of fun colors, I love the red and the blue in terry. They also have linen options.
Their bright orange terry (non bloomer) shorts would also be a great option. Zara has a really cute striped pair and I love how they call it “mini volume shorts.” Free People has a sheer floral pair that are very French lingerie vibes.
Or this mini mini blue pair via Paloma Wool, LOVE.
Colorful companions- the good ol pop of color. This Lack of Color bright pink hat scratches an itch and would be perfect with a white tee. Their Island bucket hat is on sale for $49. Pardo has some really fun hats.
A red mesh shopper bag from Mango would be fun. Okay and this clear bag from Mango (not colorful but cool for bright colored towels)!! Chan Luu has some cool bags. I had no idea that SC103 made belts, this one from The RealReal would be so cool with white. Cute red bucket hat on sale at J.Crew for $56.
Or the orange Dragon Diffusion bag I’ve talked about so many times that is on sale on Ssense for $324 (from $405). This mini yellow leather skirt with belt on sale for $133. Paloma Wool has a great sheer red skirt and pants. Idk how we are all feeling about jelly flats at this point but this pink pair from COS would be cute.
A very cute pair of green Maryam Nassir Zadeh pumps via The RealReal (size 8.5). Or a purple Bode sweater to throw over your shoulders. COS just released a pair of bright red leather flip flops, they’re cute.
Don’t even get me started on THESE Saks Potts pants because they have been on my wishlist for years. I have them pinned in every color as seen below. These would be my perfect pants to pair with every white tee and they are basically sold out in every color and pretty expensive. I did find the red in a size large on sale for $502 (10% off if you’re a first time shopper there).
Boots- this one doesn’t need a lot of explanation or options, if you gotta good pair of old black boots, you are set. Would be a great addition with the bloomers!! I love a black & white look but really any color works. These Prada’s via The RealReal are the perfect vibe. A much more affordable Prada pair (size 6.5) for $147. Or these patent leather! I swear if you are a size 6 you get all the good shoes on The RealReal and I am upset.
Layers- I posted in February about layering my white tees here and I continue to love it. A long sleeve white tee is a great and versatile piece to own. I love my Muji white long sleeve, it’s a mens crew neck and it’s perfect and super comfortable. I got a medium and it’s $20. Layering it with stripes (like this Gap tee) would be especially fun. I also love the COS tee’s. This striped one is perfect and reminds me of the Kallmeyer tee’s (and this color).
H&M premium selection has some decent white blouses I have bought in the past, as someone who tends to spill on every white piece I own, I tend to steer more towards the affordable side and keep my Miss Mouth’s messy eater stain spray with me at all times.
Textures- the chokehold this Zara top in the first photo had on me a few years ago, it’s a good one. I found a small on Depop.
Issey Miyake pleats would be my #1 choice in terms of texture. He does such a beautiful white with his pleats collection, I stalk the internet for somewhat affordable secondhand pieces. The RealReal has one for $192 and Ssense for $288. This girl on Depop has a ton of Issey Miyake pieces.
And a few other things! Tis the season for me to buy a new swimsuit and reveal my pale belly. Nu Swim has some very flattering swimsuits and I am hovering over this bikini top.
Kallmeyer long sleeves I spoke about above (great for layering) as seen on Lara Oliveri.
Cute Tory Burch heels on sale for $159.
I did some new arrivals browsing on Zara late last night and love this whole look. I am curious where the white flip flops are from, the bottoms are a bit different and I love the brown belt. I have been fooled by Zara jeans being shorter than they look in the photos but when you find a good pair, they are pretty decent! May give them a try.
These kitten heels are cute, love this polka dot dress and heels (and while we’re add it- polka dot shorts). Chic long halter top and satin set. Good color blue tank and classic black tank. Plus these little yellow linen shorts and sheer blue top. Also love these long satin pants I’d wear with everything.
Lastly, I went a little crazy during the Bink sale (if you don’t know Bink, they have the cutest water bottles EVER in amazing colors). I ended up ordering two mini’s (one in coco and one in bubblegum) and a day bottle. I will be returning the big one because I didn’t love the color, I want something a bit brighter like the color butter. The mini’s are the cutest little things I’ve ever seen, I love them for my to go matcha’s.
Thanks as always for reading x
